Jonathan is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and Massage Therapist. He is registered in the State as a Physical Therapist Assistant, has a Master's Degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine, and has received clinical training in the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Medicine in the People's Republic of China.
Jonathan has extensive training in Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage) and has a great deal of experience and expertise treating orthopedic conditions. He also has additional training working with both men and women for fertility.
Jonathan's philosophy is that Traditional Chinese Medicine serves as an excellent complement to modern western approaches to health and disease. With a diverse background of clinical experience in both eastern and western settings, patients are given the best possible solutions to a variety of health concerns.
Prior to practicing acupuncture & Chinese medicine, Jonathan worked for years as a Physical Therapist Assistant. His work experience includes working in hospitals, outpatient clinics and rehabilitation centers. Jonathan has practiced as a licensed massage therapist since 2001, providing therapeutic massage treatments in a private clinic.
As part of his education in acupuncture, Jonathan has 750 hours of clinical training in various acupuncture clinics in the finger lakes region with over 400 patient contacts. Patient populations included addiction centers, public acupuncture clinics, and hospitals. Jonathan spent one month in the People’s Republic of China, receiving clinical training at Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Jonathan has been in practice as an acupuncturist since 2007. He has a great deal of success treating patients for chronic pain, acute pain, fertility, among other conditions. He strives to provide the best possible care and works hard to educate patients empowering them to take control of their own health.
Jonathan received his Master’s of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from New York Chiropractic College’s School of Oriental Medicine in 2007. He graduated with high honors and received the schools Award for Clinical Excellence. This award is presented to the graduate who performed at a high level of excellence during clinical rotations in multiple areas of patient care and delivery of treatment including diagnosis, treatment skills, documentation and professionalism.
Jonathan received his Associates of Applied Science, Physical Therapist Assistant in 1997 from Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, New York. He also has a Diploma of Massage Therapy from the New York Institute of Massage, where he graduated in 2002.
Jonathan spent time in China in a teaching hospital where he had the opportunity to study with some of the world leading traditional doctors. He spent extensive time in the hospitals in-patient and out-patient Tui Na department where he learned many techniques that he applies to patient care today. He also had the opportunity to work in the OBGYN department of the hospital, as well as gastroenterology and orthopedic acupuncture.
While in practice for almost a decade, Jonathan continues to learn and improve his treatment skills. He has additional training specifically in "Zheng Gu Tui Na", and has recieved training from two of the United States top practitioners in the field of bone mobilizing Tui Na, Frank Butler and Tom Bizio.
